Who We Are

Built from sixteen years of showing up.

Haiti Child Thrive Foundation is a small, focused 501(c)(3) public charity. It was started by two people who have spent a combined lifetime in Cap-Haïtien — one who grew up there, and one who has worked there as a nurse since 2010.

Our Mission

To equip Haitian families — one at a time, for the long term — with nourishment, healthcare, education, and economic opportunity.

We are not trying to fix Haiti. We are a small foundation, trying to change the course of one community by a few degrees over a decade. Thirty families in 2026. One hundred by 2028. Four hundred plus a Tech Center by 2036. The math is honest, the partners are real, and the model is built around the lessons of one girl named Darline.

Angeline (Angie) Moore

Angie grew up in Cap-Haïtien — in the very poverty the Foundation now addresses. She worked as a street merchant at fourteen to pay her own school fees. Her uniform was donated and re-sewn by a neighbor. Her shoes were second-hand whites polished black, with polish that ran when it rained.

Her firsthand experience of what a uniform, a meal, and an education can mean to a Haitian child drives every decision the Foundation makes. She is the bridge — culturally, linguistically, and personally — between donors in the United States and the families served in Cap-Haïtien.

Donald “Randy” Moore

Randy is a retired registered nurse with sixteen years of on-the-ground experience in Cap-Haïtien. He has worked at St. François de Salle Hospital in Vaudreuil and alongside the team at Hôpital Sarepta — the same hospital that is now HCTF's healthcare partner.

It was Randy's "one in two hundred" observation — that across years of charitable spending in Haiti, only a tiny fraction of funded children actually reached employment — that became the design principle for the Foundation. Every program decision is filtered through one question: does this change the math for Darline's classmates, the 199 who never got there?

Board & Governance

The Foundation was incorporated in 2025 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity effective January 9, 2026. The board seats four directors, including Dr. Sandro Visani, a board-certified surgeon and longtime colleague of Randy's who joined as our physician board member. We are actively recruiting one additional independent director — a nonprofit accountant or attorney — to be seated within Year 1.

The Foundation operates under a written conflict-of-interest policy. Family relationships among directors are publicly disclosed. A Real Local Partner

Sarepta Foundation has operated Hôpital Sarepta in Cap-Haïtien for thirteen years. Our healthcare agreement is signed, dated March 15, 2026, on a 3-year auto-renewing term. See the agreement summary.

Line-Item Budget

Every dollar of the $70,000 Year-1 budget is published, line by line, including the English professor, in-country oversight, insurance, CPA review, and contingency. See the full breakdown.

Outcomes Before Growth

Enrollment doesn't grow until the prior year's outcomes are published. The Nutrition Center is built only after five years of documented demand. The Tech Center opens only when graduates are ready.

A Founder Who Grew Up Here

Angeline Moore is a Cap-Haïtien native. She lived the poverty the Foundation addresses. She speaks Haitian Kreyòl and French. She is not a visitor with a project — she is home.
